Our main aim is to ensure your child’s ‘early years are happy years’ and we believe learning should be enjoyable for everyone involved. 

OUR NURSERY

Our nursery comprises of age related resources and equipment, as well as a spacious free flow outdoor area. This allows for more active play, designed to help children’s ever growing needs and their progression in learning and development. The nursery has a secure, closed garden surrounded by fences so that children can enjoy themselves freely and safely. 

With weekly woodland school trips, music, letters & sounds, P.E lessons, cooking, crafts and more, Wistanstow Under Fives has all you need to give your little ones the start they deserve.

WHAT WE OFFER

At WISTANSTOWUNDERFIVE’S we offer day care for children from 2 to 4 years old. We also offer 15 hours and 30 hours funded places for eligible children aged 2-4 years old. Breakfast club is also run by the Wistanstow Under Fives team within the nursery building which is open to all children from 2-11 years.

FRESHLY PREPARED HEALTHY MEALS

Our staff will provide a wide range of freshly prepared snacks in the morning and afternoon.  Lunch and pudding will be provided  by the cook at Wistanstow school at a cost of £2.50. 

All children are encouraged to make choices and try foods but staff will be sympathetic to any dislikes. Special diets can be catered for (vegetarian, dairy free, etc). Fresh drinking water is available for the children throughout the day. We promote healthy eating within the setting with recommendations from the Health Education Authority.

All staff at Wistanstow Under Fives hold their Food and Hygiene Certification and we have a 5 Star Food Standards Agency rating.

 

STAFF

Quality care is dependent upon quality staff. All staff are aware that working in partnership with parents/carers is essential to ensure that ‘seamless’ care is provided for your child. We  put emphasis on building successful relationships with parents and carers, to enable us to support each child’s learning and development. 

The nursery is run by joint management as well as nursery practitioners. All staff hold current childcare qualifications. All staff are committed to providing high quality child care, they are well supported and receive ongoing training. The qualified staff work alongside outside agencies and other professionals to ensure the care that your child receives is second to none.

Kelly Jones

Co Manager / Director

With 16 years experience working with children aged 2-11 years and 14 years working at Wistanstow Under Fives Kelly has progressed from nursery practitioner, deputy leader and now managing director.
Kelly has a level 3 qualification in childcare and development, as well as first aid, food hygiene, safeguarding, health and safety and SEN.

Lucy Sumner

Co Manager / Director

Working alongside Kelly as joint managing director Lucy is a mum of 3 children and has been working at Wistanstow Under Fives for 2 years. Lucy started off volunteering at the nursery and soon demonstrated her natural ability to support young children’s learning and development. Lucy has a BA Hons in early childhood and family studies as well as first aid, food hygiene, health and safety, SEN and safeguarding.

Hannah Morgan

Nursery Assisstant

A mum of two young boys Hannah has been working with us for just over a year now. She has a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Primary Initial Teacher Education and has 6 years experience working with children in early years settings.

Emily

Nursery Assisstant

Having recently gained her level 2 in childcare and working towards her level 3 Emily is now working part time as a nursery practitioner. A mum of 5 children Emily is a very passionate team member and shows a natural ability in building relationships with children.

We are open Monday to Friday from 7:50am – 3:00pm term time only.

• Breakfast Club 7:50 – 8:50 am

• Morning session 9 – 12 pm

• Lunch session 12 – 1 pm

• Afternoon session 1 – 3 pm
